Where are Chimpel pieces made?

Every piece is cut, stitched and finished by hand in the Chimpel studio in Cape Town, South Africa.

Which leathers do you work in?

Ostrich shin and body, crocodile belly, lambskin and full-grain cowhide, selected hide by hide and matched to the pattern before cutting.

Can I visit the studio or a store?

Yes. You can find us at the Watershed, Ground Floor, Shop 501, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.

How long does delivery take?

Courier delivery within South Africa takes 2–4 working days, with an overnight option to main centres. Made-to-order pieces are quoted with a lead time.

Do you ship internationally?

Certain protected skins are restricted under CITES and are available for local delivery only. Please contact the studio before placing an international order.

Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes. Selected pieces can be secured with a two-part lay-by: half on order and the balance before collection or dispatch.

Can I order a bespoke piece?

Commissions and colour or hardware changes are welcome. Send the reference of a piece you like and the studio will quote.

How do I care for my piece?

Keep leather dry and away from direct heat, store it in the dust bag provided, and use a neutral leather conditioner sparingly. Exotic skins should be cleaned by a specialist.
